How do you do it all?
The truth is, I don’t!
Some days I’m checking things off the to-do list left and right. Other days, I never get out of my pjs. It’s all about balance, right?!?
All jokes aside, what you see on the outside isn’t always reflective of the journey someone is navigating behind closed doors. We talk about this in our podcast, as my public persona often includes blazers and heels. TBH, they have received the least amount of use during 2023, as I transition to a life that allows me to show up as I am everyday.
So let’s talk about what this means and doesn’t mean…well, to start with, your self-worth is not determined by how much you accomplish on any given day. YOU ARE ENOUGH! You will always be enough just as you are. Now, can we always improve? Absolutely, as we never stop learning and growing as humans. That’s the beauty of life. The amazing moments provide us with joy and happiness that helps us strive for more of that. The hard moments provide us with opportunities to learn and grow in ways that we never considered before.
I’m learning to become aware of where I am each day, without judgement! I’m starting to get clear on what is important for me, rather than trying to please everyone around me! Maybe most importantly, I’m realizing that no two days are the same. The world around us can influence how we feel, how we show up, and what we believe, so it is essential that we become crystal clear on what’s ok and what’s not ok for us.
At the end of the day, I can’t be a machine when it comes to getting things done, and I still do, as the adulting responsibilities don’t end. However, I’ve learned to tackle the to-do list intentionally, to honor myself and what I need, and allow myself to be ok if it all doesn’t get done.
You don’t have to do it all. No one can do it all. The perfect life doesn’t exist, even if social media tries to tell us differently. I leave you with an invitation to let go of the never ending to-do list, the hustle for our self-worth…I invite you to BE YOU! Be kind to yourself! You’re doing great!
